With the help of some CIP funds I am considering adding a fertigation system to my 27 hole course. I dont have the room to add large tanks w/available product but rather have the nutrients pumped from various 55 gallon drums thru injection. It has been mentioned that piston pumps last longer then diaphagm ones & some companies are better in service then others. Looking for some feedback on popular systems.

I am looking into the installation of a fertigation system and I was wondering if anyone might have some information to share.

Has anyone installed a fertigation system "in house"? If so, where might I find information about the materials needed and the proper procedures for installation? Were there significant savings doing it yourself? Were you happy with the results? How challenging was the installation?

If you did not install it yourself what company would you recommend for consideration? What did it cost you?

    Thanks,

I have used a DGT-Volmatic ... not even sure if they are available any more.

Either way I found this article with costs, etc. We were in the Philadelphia area and our system was installed 2-3 years after this article.

If your facility can afford it, having multiple tanks is nice...not only can you fertilize, but wetting agents can be pumped through your system as well.
