I have seen a few posts from years past that involve the use of Epsom Salt. I have some on hand, and want to brighten up my mostly common bermuda fairways, and mostly 419 tee tops prior to an event we are hosting in two weeks. This spring has been miserable for trying to grow any bermuda grass in Northwest Arkansas, and probably most of the mid-south. I have sprayed 46-0-0 four times, weekly at .25# N/1000 and have also put out a 50% slow release granular at .75#N/1000 just last week. I know this turf will eventually fill in, but I am trying to "fool the eye" if you will for a few weeks. I have some liquid iron coming, but its been slow to get here and my patience has run out and I need to spray in the morning. What, if any, kind of rates is anyone using? I'm not trying to correct any deficiencies, just looking for some GREEN color.

How about a green spray pigment such as foursome or envy?

We spray it anywhere from 22-44 lbs./acre depending how much color you want. Don't water in...

Saw your rates after I was finished spraying. Put 10#/acre down, have plenty more where that came from. Hopefully 10# does some good, I will up the rate from here. What kind of interval do you follow for applying this stuff?

SO back to this subject a year and ten days later, and another odd spring here. My question this time, has anyone sprayed Primo with Epsom Salt? I have an ample supply, and I am looking to mask any potential tip burn from the Primo. I've not heard of anyone doing this, maybe someone could chime in. I can get iron, but I want to use what I have on hand if possible.

I've not had any issues mixing the two.

To be honest, I don't see tip burn from Primo applications. I've only ever used Epsom at 2-4oz/m ~ 88-176 lbs/A coming from a Bentgrass background but managing both Bent and Bermuda fairways now. I did spread Epsom at 2 lbs/m on a Bentgrass green in the winter one time as an experiment side-by-side with a Pro-Mag application with no issues watered in. What is your spray rate? Anything else in tank? What cultivar? I'm primarily VaMont but a bit of a patchwork quilt with some 419, Patriot, Celebration, T-10, Northbridge, and a few other unknowns out there.

88-176 OUNCES per acre .... not pounds. 5-10 pounds per acre.

Same kind of situation, 419, common, Latitude, and who knows what else. I don't want to add anything else to the tank if I don't have to for this, but can. I also thought, man, this guy has a lot of stuff in his tank when he sprays!
