I need some ideas that I can project our job assignments onto a TV, or use a projector to keep the jobs up all day. Need to keep as inexpensive as possible and has to be big enough for 30+ employees to see in the AM. I hate writing all the jobs on the board in the morning, then having to transfer it onto our excel spreadsheet for records. Love to just do it once and project it.

Sam, we use an Excel spreadsheet that is on a second monitor on my assistants desk. Whatever is on the second monitor is also seen on the tv in the crew area. We used a VGA to Hdmi converter to send the signal to the tv. Got the idea from the guys at TPC@Sawgrass.

We have a 50" TV and it's even a little small. Looking at a projector next.

Thats what I am looking to do as well. Think 50" would be too small for everyone to see. I was over at TPC Sugarloaf for the Senior event this year and they had a projector that they kept on all the time. Just wonder how often they replace the bulb.

Good question. We shut our tv off after everyone's leaves the shop after first and second assignments. I'm sure doing the same with the projector will help. But even then, buying one bulb a year is cheaper than having you or your assistant writing jobs on the board 15 minutes each day, every day.

But you bring up a good point. Buying a projector could get pricey if you are spending a few hundred each year on a bulb. Kind of like cheap printers that require ink that costs more than the original purchase price.

You guys wouldn't have a picture to show would you?

Would make it so much easier to show powers to be compared to trying to explain it. Well for me it would be.

    Thanks!

Mel and Sam, I did my setup using Google Drive instead of excel. This way I can set or change job assignments from anywhere/anytime with my iPad or smartphone. The TV also doubles as an electronic photo frame when I set up a photo file to be my screen saver.

    Thanks Kyle,

That's some great stuff that we can use to show how we would proceed and how it's done.

Thanks so much for that information.

Same thing as Kyle. We got most of our stuff from Newegg.com.

Kyle, great info on your set up. I'm sure it is going to aid a lot of guys in moving to electronic job boards. I like Trevor us Google Drive rather than Excel for our daily job setup along with task list. Myself and my assistant have apps on our phones that at any moment out on the course if we see something that needs changed or added to a list it's easily done on the course and updates so both can see. I look forward to eventually getting all data put together on a similar system as Kyle but currently our facility doesn't have a dedicated space for something like that. Amazing how technology continues to change the industry.

    Kyle:

Any chance you would be willing to share the excel file you use for your daily job scheduling. It looks very impressive and better than what I can make on my own.
