I played a course a few weeks ago that used something like EZ Pin. I played with the assistant and he mentioned that you can set the parameters based on green speeds for the day. This was good on about 16/18 holes. Two of them were in some very tricky locations. I think the cup cutter still needs to use some judgement when setting the pin as the computer isn't always right.
That got us talking about developing something that has a GPS locater on the cup cutter that marks the location AFTER the cup is cut and automatically sends the info to the pro shop or on-cart screen or app. This way the guy changing cups can use his judgement to determine location based on turf health, stresses, slopes and speed, and still relay the info back to the pro shop.
