I'm wondering what the frequency people are using to repair Par 3 tee boxes. And how long with how much labor? I got into a discussion with my Park Director and he's turned this into his pet project....

    Thanks

We try to do a little divot repair whenever we topdress greens every two weeks. Might take an extra hour, now the quality of the repairs might not be the best. We have quickstand bermuda on our tees. I would have to say, that we TRY to do it, doesn't always happen.

We have a retired military officer and local pastor who come out every Monday (closed) and fill divots on the range and the tees. For this we allow them one round of free golf on a weekday. It works well for us and our membership has embraced the program.

We have bentgrass tees and the person setting tee markers brings a bucket of sand/seed with him and fills divots everyday. Done daily your recovery time is much quicker and you never fall behind and it does not add a lot of time to the process of moving markers.

We are doing it once a week, usually on Friday and fill the divot buckets those days as well so the members have full buckets for the weekends.

We do it during daily set-up. Might go through 2-3 gallons of sand a day and only takes about 15 minutes daily extra.

Because of this, we removed the sand boxes to avoid excess clutter. The members always want us to put them back, but I counter with "when was the last time you saw a divot go unfilled for more than a day?"

Ditto to Andy. I always hated the divot boxes on the tees. A daily once around and things are always quicker to recover.

we fill divots on all tees everyday, we also pick up all the broken tees everyday. Averaging 250 to 300 rounds per day if we fall behind just one or two days it seems as if we can't catch up. We used to have the divot containers on our par 3's but it felt like we were growing better turf in the container than on the actual tee.
