We're in the market for a deep tine aerator and I'm looking for feedback on the following equipment:

    Weidenmann Gxi8

    Vertidrain 7316/7416

    Toro SR 72/72S

It will mount on a John Deere 4520 w/ Galaxies to be used mainly on older USGA spec greens....some tees....possibly fairways.

My main priorities for this machine are: impacting 4"-10" on our greens with as little disruption as possible; the ability to get a close hole spacing (at least a 2x2); and, productivity.

Any input or insight from others regarding speed, durability, uses, pros/cons, etc. appreciated.

Very difficult to get 2" centers using the equipment you mentioned. I'm a huge fan of deep tining,.but I do.that in addition to my routine 3/8" quad blocks on UD bermuda. Deep tining for me accomplishes a different goal. That being said, play around w/rpm and speed to find spacing you like.

Heath my club just bought a Gxi8 last fall. I looked at all available options and was convinced the Weidenman is still the best option. I like the ease of adjustment in the field, operator comfort, ability to easily train someone to operate who might be unfamiliar with machine and of course speed was the main factor. We also own a Gxi 6. My Weidenman dealer also runs a contracting service with the Weidenman aerators so they are able to easily answer any questions correctly that I have regarding adjustment etc. Hope this helps.

Agree with Ryan. The ease of use and setup is incomparable to the others.

Thanks for the information. Weidenmann is currently at the top of my list.
