The Syngenta fungicide program for Florida calls for the use of Headway in February and March and Briskway in June and July. Has anybody succesfully tried this without burning up a bunch of grass?

    Regards,

    Steve

Yeah, it make me pretty nervous, though.

Weve been using Torque for 4 years. .6oz/1000, under $500/app/gallon and only make 1 app/year. Take primo out the week before to be safe. I am not a fan of DMI's, but it's cost and results on FR make it hard to beat.

I sprayed tartan in July and August, along with torque, affirm, headway, prostar and you name it for FR last year...The first summer tartan app I didn't spray primo but got an unacceptable growth surge so I didn't change a thing with the next app in Aug and saw ZERO ill effects...and that was with primo at 6oz/acre... Fairy Ring killed us last year and I was willing to try anything to beat it back... so far, knock on wood we have none and i am again following the tartan program.

I am also following a hybrid syngenta/bayer program

I have used Briskway in the summer months. Fantastic product and cleaned our Bermudagrass decline right up. Perfectly safe. We even applied while using 6oz/ac/wk of Primo. No issues.

We normally use Bayleton in February and March for fairy ring control, and this year switched to Tartan. Never had an issue as long as it is still somewhat cool out. Stop Primo the week before and after to be safe.

Thanks. Did you have a fairy ring problem and has that solved it?

I will second Andy's post regarding briskway. It is a great product. Headway is also lower risk on the dmi scale too, but I've yet to use that one. Check with Dr. Harmon from University of Florida, he has done a lot of work with dmi on ultradwarfs and others.

I have replaced Pro Star with Torque Fungicide 4 years ago. I also use it more often than Heritage Fungicide. In the last 3 years, I have not seen fairy ring on my greens. I also us Hydra Hume with Torque Fungicide. Glad that I switched to it. Going to be using it on my tee boxes that have fairy ring on them this year. For the price, it is a great product.

Yes' sir! Had 6-7 greens with large rings in it. This cleaned them up nicely. Sprayed it with our normal wetting agent, so everything got watered in at once.

Just as a point of reference I didn't go out and cowboy these apps on my own... Dr. Wong and Dr. Settles (with Bayer) helped create it and had several site visits to monitor...
