Our course is in the process of building more forward tees to help attract lady golfers, seniors and new golfers just getting started to the game and make it more fun and playable. In this process we are looking to replace the traditional red tee marker for ladies and yellow for beginners. I've been given the daunting task of trying to find and locate complete new custom color tee marker to replace the red and yellow with teal and amber. I'm not kidding teal and amber. BUT, I want to keep the same shape and size and material of tee marker of what I use for my blues, white and greens. Does anyone know of a manufacturer or supplier who can get me custom color teal and amber colored 3.5" round sphere that is a solid plastic? I don't want to be painting these teal and amber tee markers every winter and I need the tee markers to float if kids pitch them into the ponds is the reason why I want them plastic. I'm running into dead ends with my search on the internet and calling my vendors and picking their brains. I guess I could call a plastic injection mold business and see if that would be a possibility. I know if there is a will there is a way. I appreciate any advice or guidance you can throw my way.

    Thanks,

    Hello Steve, oops Dennis

We are now going through the same process of designating more forward teeing areas. Not necessarily new tees but more markers to shorten the course (some holes) for various skill levels. As red is associated with women's tees there was resistance from some players to play from those tees even though that's what their skill level suggests where they play from. Anyway, we are no longer using colors and next year we are going with numbered stations or zones.

Can't help you with finding a new tee marker to match your current markers without seeing what they look like.

Here's a photo of a prototype I made for the new markers at our course. All plastic. No painting. I had green and white board in stock for the prototypes but I'm considering a different color scheme.

    All the best,

    Dennis,

After thinking about it... Not sure how many markers you need but it would be possible to make a silicon mold of one of your current markers and then use that mold to make additional markers. Plastic type resin is readily available and a variety of colors are available to tint the resin. The resin sets up in reasonable time and the process wouldn't be too bad. Of course you could make multiple molds as well to speed up the process. You tube has many videos showing the mold making process and the use of plastic resin.

    Anyway, just an idea..
