Anyone have success removing collar dams with tight aerification and then rolling? I'm thinking about renting a small 36" asphalt roller to smooth the collars after we remove a 5/8" core. Let me know your positive and negative experiences.

    Thanks!

We have performed this same procedure several times but we used a plate compactor on top of plywood to compact. Works well. Fairly straight forward. Core then compact. You may find it requires multiple applications to reach the desired results.

    Christopher,

We've had great success with that method. Hand watering behind the coring and ahead of the roller helps too, but isn't mandatory. We do cartpath edges this way as well when needed to soften the enter/exit transitions. Quick and effective.

Thanks guys, the roller is being unloaded from the truck now so we will see how it goes.

Watch out for leaks on rental equipment.
