   I've been talking with Civitas over the summer to get some product to try on bermudagrass, which they really have not done any testing on. The product just came last week...thoughts to follow...

   If you have any areas that are thin or stressed from the summer, DO NOT apply Civitas. I don't care a lick what the distributors say, it will seal those areas off and choke out any potential for recovery and seed germination. Remember it is an oil and I personally learned this the hard way.

   For what it's worth, I've used it a few times here in the Mid-West and I think it's a nice product with some good uses. Just play with it in a safe way (nursery perhaps) and figure out if it can help your program. A few years ago we tried it on tees and got the best $ spot suppression we had ever seen on those tees (when combined with BannerMaxx and Iprodione at low rates). Personally I used it one application late spring because it's great against anthracnose and last year 1 greens got hit with basal rot otherwise I am not using it currently.

   Anyone using this on bent/poa greens? If so, can you tell me some pro's or cons you have run into. I am still not sure about spraying oil on greens. Thanks!!

   We have used Civitas on our greens, tees, and fairways for the last couple years and have seen excellent results. Our greens are bent with poa. I apply it on greens at the rate of 8 oz/m of Civitas and 1 oz/m of Propiconazole. I have not applied it at the full rate by itself, I am happy with the color and results at the rates we use. I have also found that we use less bifenthrin for cutworms when using Civitas.

   We used it this spring. Not so much for the fungicide attributes but for the plant health enhancements. We ended up pulling it out of the tank because of cost and because I think it was a contributing factor to the fat leaves we had.

   We have used Civitas on our fairways, tees, and greens this season. We have also used it on our dwarf blue intermediate roughs. We are extremely happy with the results that we have seen in our intermediates, we were struggling with necrotic ring spot in these areas and Heritage was doing a good job of controlling but with the addition of Civitas we are not seeing any further disease activity. We also added Civitas into our fairway program for control of take all patch and have been symptom free for the first time this season. We have decided to stop using it on greens and tees with the exception of post aerification, our sales rep says that it helps to fill the holes in quicker although I am not sure if it is notably that much faster, a few days maybe. The harmonizer does do a nice job of greening them back up after being beat up though which makes everyone happier. We always spray at 500ml/1000 with .75oz/1000 harmonizer, usually at 3gal/1000.
