Anyone using chip seal method for cart path construction? Curious to know pros/cons and managing maintenance issues such as "loose ston" or "cleaning off mud and/or grass clippings".

Looked into this too to fix some bad areas in our paths. From what I read is that it is best to use this method on a firm asphalt base. I did not call a local company to see if possible to do on our paths though. Moraine CC in Dayton did this a few years ago.

The county chip sealed a road outside of our neighborhood and it's rougher now than ever. Sure, it sealed the cracks, but the bumps are still there. Lots of loose gravel on the side too. Almost wish they left it alone!

It was done at a course I was at in the 90's. Too much freezing and thawing here in Missouri for it. Gave way under and broke up in a lot of areas. Warm weather climates might not be a bad application. Still have to use a heavy oil truck and rock trucks to haul in covering material. No idea of the cost but I'm sure cheaper than asphalt.
