It amazes me how Golf Club Management doesn't give a second thought to re carpeting a clubhouse every 4-5 years, not because it has worn out, but because it is no longer the "right colour"

The carpet on the course is often 60 plus years old, threadbare and worn, sometimes not the "right" colour and yet we are supposed to make it last forever.

Does the carpet match the drapes?

    Larry:

To be fair I sat in on a seminar within the past couple of years at the CGSA national conference where a GM used that exact analogy in saying that clubs need to resurface their greens on occasion. Since he might be the only one that thought it, I should have remembered his name but don't.

    COLOUR EH!

Tom, we are recarpeting the clubhouse. But I believe the quote was inadvertently stole from Ken Wright from Devils Pulpit. Knowing Ken he would appreciate the plagiarism

worked a place as an assistant, where the clubhouse carpet was replaced two years in a row, but the Maintenance Dept received no capital during that same time. As a matter of fact, it was lucky if we got paid on time.

A million bucks is nothing in these clubhouse redecorations and renovations either. Imagine what you could do on the course with that money. Kenneth Ingram, UMD

Hey red, it's like this, golfers walk on the carpet everyday and notice how it wears out, were good at what we do thus they can not notice how the turf wears out from the same traffic patterns.

Do you have any ice to destroy a perfectly good aerator?

    Tell teddy I say hello!
