I want to add boomless nozzles to my sprayer. I have a smithco spraystar 1600p and I'm not sure where to get started. Any help or direction is appreciated. Thanks.

Depends what you are going after. If you want to apply product with a lot of water volume, use a Fieldjet. If you want to cover a wide area without a lot of volume, use a Boomjet. We have both on our sprayers and use each one for different things.

The Fieldjet, also sometimes known as a Floodjet, is found here: http://www.teejet.com/english/home/products/spray-products/boomless-spray-nozzles/fieldjet--boomless-nozzles.aspx. We use this to apply product in upwards of 80 gallons an acre, especially slurry type products that normally would otherwise clog normal nozzles.

The Boomjet is found here: http://www.teejet.com/english/home/products/spray-products/boomless-spray-nozzles/5880-boomjet--boomless-nozzles.aspx. We use this to apply insecticides in broadcast applications. Typically applied using as little as 15 gallons per acre, we can apply our wall-to-wall insecticide applications in a matter of hours.

I would use the Fieldjet. The Ferrous Sulfate won't clog it up and you'll get better coverage compared to the Boomjet. Downside is you won't be able to get very much out of a tank. I've sprayed that application also using 8020 flat fan nozzles, no filters.

Our sprayer is 160 gallons. We've had the Fieldjet as low as 60gpa, but typically spray at 80gpa. That's only two acres per tank for us.

If you want to stick with flat fans, buy standard Urea and a good liquid source of Ferrous Sulfate. You may pay a little more, but you're going to save a bunch in labor by not having to refill tanks or clean nozzles.

Yes. It works, but you may see some streaking the first time.

Anybody ever use the Greenleaf Boomless? I've seen a video of the thing in action and was pretty impressed.

Ok thanks. The TeeJet catalog says "Uniformity can be optimized by double overlapping spray swaths on successive sprayer passes. Remember, this also doubles the application volume." I may do this the first time toreduce the streaking potential.

At 35 psi/3.4 mph (2nd gear/2500 rpm on my JD 2030 w/ HD200) I'm right at 63 gpa. I do 2 passes in 2 different directions to eliminate streaking when I spray greens which brings it to 126 gpa. I do my 3 acres of greens with 2 tanks.
