Please be aware of a recent email phishing scam using the subject line "Due Normination". The email content mimics our logo and mission statement. This email is not from GCSAA, and we highly recommend that you do not open it. Please mark it as spam, and then delete it.

If you ever have any question about the legitimacy of an email from GCSAA, please call us at 800-472-7878, and we can verify it for you.

    Good afternoon Angela,

Thanks for the information. Earlier today I received a similar type e-mail that the subject was "Don't get left behind". I figured it wasn't legit bit I forwarded on to Mark Johnson (his was the only gcsaa e-mail address I had in my phone) so GCSAA staff could take a look at it. It had an attached pdf and was requesting that I submit my information which I did not do.

    Gary,

Thank you for letting us know. We are starting to hear about other subject lines as well. You were right in not submitting your information. All legitimate emails from GCSAA will always come from an email address that ends in gcsaa.org.

I received the same email. This seems to be occurring on a more frequent basis. How is it GCSAA members are being targeted?

I don't think it is just GCSAA members. I have been getting an increasing number of phishing emails lately. I even had my phone hacked and used to send people in my address book a link for a fraudulent wire transfer. From what I understand, if you are on the cloud your address can be highjacked and messages sent making it look like they come from your phone.

I understand the phone hack and multiple phising emails. But I'm referring to the phising emails specifically to GCSAA members. The scam emails are chalk full of GCSAA logos, etc. Makes me wonder if the GCSAA database was compromised.

    Clay,

From what we can tell our firewall has not been breached, so we have no reason to believe that the GCSAA database has been compromised. Our logo and the mission statement are both available on the public side of the website (which were included in the phishing email), so anyone could easily duplicate those. If you receive any additional questionable emails, please let us know.
