So, I've been in contact with our tech in regards to the status of the rumors of what's going on with Flowtronex, and I'm getting a really bad vibe. I'd like to ask others if this bad ju-ju has been consistent all across the land, or is my service rep (whom I have a tremendous amount of faith and respect for) scaring me for no reason. Rumor I'm hearing is that the buyout will mean minimal if any support through the new vendors, not a lot of parts available if we have midseason breakdowns of any kind, and all in in all a phaseout of anything flowtronex related.

Our Flowtronex skid and flo-boy booster are 15 years old, and if this threat is real, I'd be curious as to what actions and gauge the importance of the what others are doing. I've gotten a bid on a complete switchout, as well as the breakdown for it all. What are the rest of ya'll who are in or have heard of a future conundrum doing?

I've got two Flowtronix stations and have never had a problem getting parts or service from either a local electric supply shop of our pump service company. Afterall, they use third party parts when they build them anyways. I also know of a pump company that has developed a retrofit screen and software for the Flowtronix stations if and when that need arises.

Like Andy said - all of the parts (electronic components, pumps, vfds, motors) is all off-the-shelf stuff. you shouldn't have any trouble finding parts. The only proprietary component is the software to run the station. You should be able to find someone to retrofit the PLC and program for $10,000 or less if you have a failure. I don't have any information about this proposed buyout, but it seems irrational that someone would pay money to buy the company and immediately abandon all of the existing customers. Seems to defeat the purpose of buying an existing company.
