We're looking into adding "artificial" hitting mats to our driving range tee. I'm looking for recommendations on different companies, as well as different ways to install. Is is better to have one long strip of hitting surface, or does it make more sense to put in squares that can be rotated/replaced as they wear out? I have the space for about 80 feet of surface, and right now I'm thinking the "squares" make the most sense. I would love to hear opinions on who sells the best product. Thanks in advance for your input.

We were very satisfied with these and they lasted a long time although we only used them when the grass tee needed a rest.

    Scott,
How long do you think they last you?

I second the Fiberbuilt system. We installed their continuous tee line, with ball holders, roughly one year ago today and the mats are holding up very well, almost like new. We did, in this order, standing mat - hitting mat - ball holder - hitting mat - standing mat - hitting mat - ball holder, etc....in one continuous row on top of a concrete pad. The system is very well built and went together very easy. Our players love it and have commented that it is very easy to hit from and softer on their wrists than our old mats. In fact, our range sales have increased since installing this system. We're expecting to get 10+ years out of the system.

We decided to purchase this system due to the modular design. If a mat wears out, you replace just that part, not the entire system. We actually went and looked at many of the other types of systems installed and the modular design won us over.
