I am looking at using Anderson's nusion fertilizer29-2-3 liquid fertilizer. Located in Minnesota with bent/poa greens. The salesman is saying that at the 8oz/1000 rate on greens that it will last up to 3 weeks. Making it close to the granular we have been applying. Anyone have any experience with this product? Other liquids we have looked into are applied weekly or bi-weekly. Does this really last 3 weeks?

    Thanks for any comments.

The Urea in the Nusion is a Urea Triazone formulation that Anderson's does not own the patent to. It was developed in the Ag world and is used extensively on row and field crops. I would think that you would get a good release with it but I would water it in. Too much can happen to it sitting on the leaf blade.

The leaf will only absorb so much and then what happens to the rest? Will you get it in solution and into the soil before it volatilizes?

There are plenty of sprayable controlled release N sources out there to compliment the granulars. My real question would be why do you want a liquid controlled release N when you can get it in a granual? Then supplement toward the end of the release on the granualar with a couple of sprayable applicatoins before making another granular?

I guess that is just one way to skin the cat

I am using this to supplement the granular apps we are putting out. Also the cost of using the liquid fertilizer is considerably less than the granular app. I am just looking at ways to off set some of the expenses of a tight budget and make it go a little further. I will be using this fertilizer for the first time in a couple weeks and will be interested to see how long it lasts.
