Wanting to make a pass around green. Would like to throw onto the collar. Pros and cons. 1/2 rate or full rate? Water in immediately or can I time it with a rainfall that afternoon. Bentgrass greens and collars with Bermuda surrounds in western ky.

I just put it down on my Bermuda greens at a 1/2 rate and will go back 2 weeks later at 1/2 rate. You should be fine. A quick water cycle to afterwards.

I would caution, of course I'm being cautious, but I would rather water in regardless, just afraid of a gully washer floating the product where you don't want it.

Some things I don't mind taking advantage of a rain to water it in, some things I don't want to take the risk. But that is just me.

I have been told to be careful when using that product in the transition zone.

Why not barricade or dimension, cheaper products.
Unless you are worried about root pruning
Barricade is fairly water insoluble and will not move once in the soil profile

    Chris,

I will be putting down goose crab on my collars in the next week or so. I have been doing this for years. I use a full rate one time. We use a drop spreader to make the application and irrigate it in with a hose following the application. We wait until after the dew has lifted before we start. I have turned pen cross bright orange with the product because it was very dewy and I did not water it in until that night. The bent will grow out of the burn though. Hope this helps.
