Adizero Golf Shoes Cancel The title field is required!

   I guess I have been out to lunch, but I have just noticed first hand the footprint caused by these Adizero shoes. The sole protrusion in which the soft spike mounts is nearly the equivalent of a soccer spike and the imprint they cause on soft greens is about 3/8 inch deep. I want to ban them from our course and expected to see more discussion about it here. I see that some courses in Washington state as well as in the UK have done so. Any comments?

   Yes, the guys in the UK got together and banned the adizero shoes from the courses. It was enough of an impact that Adidas reps met with the green keepers and pros to do a redesign. Their problem showed up in winter months, so don't know if the problem was fixed. Good luck trying to keep the golfers from wearing them at your course.

   Hi Sean: According to the reports from the UK, the redesign also failed and the shoes are still banned. I was with two of our golfers with those shoes, and I will personally tell them not to wear them this weekend. Don't know what the reaction will be, but I am owner as well as supt so do have that authority. One of the guys is large - probably around 275, so no doubt that exacerbates the problem.

   Hi John, As an owner would be possible for you to offer the 2 golfer an alternate shoe style, for cost? That way you get the adizero off your course, while maintaining goodwill with your golfers.

   Hi Sean;
   Sorry to take so long to reply. We have addressed the shoes with the two members - they have returned the shoes to our pro, he has talked with Adidas, and they have agreed to take the shoes back, and give them new, different shoes.
   
   Those are two people we have some control of, won't be so easy with those we do not know.
