Over the past 3 seasons we have been replacing our 750 heads with either 855s completes or 855s conversion assemblies. When ordering these replacements they do not come with a back nozzle. Is this back nozzle a must for proper coverage? Or are these new heads designed to cover correctly head to head without the nozzle? Will our radius be lower with a back nozzle added? Will be asking more questions at nertf RI next week, but would like to hear what others are doing after this conversion to new rotors. Thanks

The back nozzle is not neccesary for a complete coverage pattern. I only use them in instances where I need a little extra water on the back side of a part circle head.

    Regards,

    Steve

A quick add-on to the initial question. If adding a back nozzle to head with radius of approx. 80ft, what would be the recommendation for back nozzle radius and arc? Or should this depend more on the exact situation at hand. We do have a few spots where extra water will be needed and will be adding a back nozzle.
    Thanks for any replies.

If you are using it as a full circle head, you take one of the front nozzles (can't remember exactly which one, but I think it's red) and put it in the rear, then put the rear plug in the front. If you have the head set as part circle, with some area behind it that still needs water, you need to leave all the nozzles in the front, and also put a nozzle in the back.
