For those of you that work with bermuda and have been at the same course for a number of years, did you notice any particular year when your bermuda began creating seed heads on a large scale? Our fairways are now 13 years old and we are having the largest crop we have seen. I am wondering if it is age or perhaps is there any relationship to having used Revolver and Specticle over the past few years? We had a very cold winter by our standards with nearly every night in January and February dropping to the low 20's so maybe that is a factor. I know we need to get busy with aerification and verticutting but beyond the usual maintenance procedures, I would be interested in all of your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Maybe I should clarify that I am referring to fairways.

    Any change to fertility?

I've always noticed that excessive seed heads usually means hungry turf in bermuda. Just one possibility.

No real change in fertility over the years. We are a little later in feeding fairways this year but are in the same time window. I thought about that as well but we are not far off our normal schedule.

    I'm with Keith, hungry turf.
