I have been working at my current course for a little over a month here and I have very newly sodded Emerald Bermuda grass greens. When I arrived the sod had very little to no root development. In the month that I have been here I have been applying several micro packages as well is some good amounts of phosphorus, and potash. I have managed to get to a root growth depth of about 1.5-2 inches average throughout the 19 greens that were sodded. My concern is that if I let them go dormant to soon I will have Major problems next spring coming out of dormancy. I have been covering them ever night it has the chance to freeze and over the long periods of cold. I am located in the Dallas area and we are having a very abnormal cold spell. This is this courses 3rd attempt at greens. Earlier in the year under previous people they lost sprigs twice do to miss management. One problem I know that is an issues is they didn't till or fluff the soil under the sod so they basically put the sod down on compacted dirt. I would like to be able to aerify in the spring but I don't think the plant will be developed enough to handle it. Any advice would be great.
