Looking forward to the upcoming festivities. St. Louis is in a frenzy with the team coming from so far back. Thanks Braves, Phillies and Brewers for helping us cross the finish line. Pitching still a question but I don't think Texas has been setting the world on fire either. Texas is the sexy pick, that's fine. Don't think anyone will pick us. If we can get Carpenter's sore elbow through a couple of games and get some stops from the bullpen, I like our chances. We do have some trouble with left handers and Texas is going to throw at least a couple at us.

A great game one. To bad the Rangers can't seem to hit.

I think the teams are pretty evenly matched, the only thing different is that St. Louis has an excellent manager. If Washington does some of the same things like he has throughout the playoffs, or doesn't do, then Texas will get hurt. Things such as pinch hitting, bullpen use, or sacrificing will end up hurting them as he does not seem to make many good decisions but just hopes his team can hit out of everything.

Think the teams are closer than pundits want to credit. Damn shame we let them get out of town with a win but good playing up the middle two innings in a row, spray single, stolen base, another single with runner advancing on misplay and two fly balls.(Looks like National League ball to me) Not the big powerful run exploding team. Maybe in Texas, we will see. I think we still take 2 in Texas. Still don't understand Freese getting yanked before at bats in the 8th innings, Rangers fans have to love seeing this. Skipper plays here, have to put something in his coffee to make him forget that move. Oh well. most the other moves work most of the time.

6 runs in 2 games, overall pretty good games so far.

Having no dog in the hunt, I just hope it goes 7 games that are well played and exciting. At the moment it looks like we will see 7 pitching battles. Both teams appear pretty even so 7 games is a strong possibility. Wouldn't it be great if it came down to the final inning of the final game? Either a batter or pitcher would end up a hero.

Game 3 should be a little different because of the DH rule. I think the change in venue and the addition of the DH will make for more of a slugfest than we saw in the first two games. I'm not a Cardinals fan but I have always been a LaRussa fan.

Before they started their run in September, some pretty strong heat from the naysayers regarding LaRussa, Pujols possible free agency and do we pay the price, Holliday's 17 million a year. Couple of great series victories and onto the world series, the naysayers were still there but they had to pipe down a little since some magic was happening. Pretty even series even though we really had a great chance to get out of there with two victories. But last nights stuff has brought the rats out of the potentially sinking ship. Airwaves were really lit up today. Maybe understanbly so after that performance and the explanation regarding some of the events later in the game.

I still think we have a shot. Rangers have not lost twice in a row since late August. Always time for a streak to stop. Hamilton will tighten up again with the cold damp weather. Rain could be a factor tomorrow. Field drains pretty well. New turf since the U2 concert in late July but some great growing weather during September/October.

Still don't understand if the bullpen coach could not hear who to get warmed up, why not send a text message.

You are correct Joe, you could bet against the streak. But many a gambling man has gone broke betting on a streak to end ........winning or losing streaks!

WOW! What a great game as far as being thrilling to watch. 19 runs, 5 HR's, 3 doubles, a triple, 23 left on base and 5 big errors but again ...............what a game! Bring on game 7 and the big "mo" has to be on the Cards side now.

PS Hope you bet the Cards Joe.........

    Dave,

Glad I'm taking a few days off.

Not much of a gambler. Always enjoy checking out your picks. Hell of a time trying to go to sleep last night, or should I say this morning. A pretty crazy game, not well played but still close until the 2 bombs that looked like they seperated from us. Two-two strike counts. This game means nothing if we don't close the deal tonight. Same thing happened in 05 with Pujols bomb off of Houston but lost the series in St. Louis.

Glad for the kid since he dropped the pop up. He had some serious issues with DUI's a couple of years ago, twice in 27 months but it appears has gotten himself straightened out.

I've got to thank Washington for keeping his pitchter batting with 2 outs and bases loaded in the 5th. I know he was pitching well but they were only up by one run. He had a chance to put big pressure on us there and let his pitcher bat. Some other interesting moves later in the game.

Speaking of gambling, check out this article.

How about the fella that gave the ball back to Freese. Nice going!

Last night may have been the most impressive World Series battle I have seen maybe in my life time. Both made errors but what suspense. I hope the series ends tonight with a game just as close. That was just fun baseball!

Standing room were 250 for game 7 last night before game 6. 350 at 7:30 am and now over 500 at 10:30. It will be a scalpers market with the excitement in the city today! Heard hundreds were scammed outside stadium yesterday by counterfeit tickets.

Now that guy is my kind of gambler. I went out one year before the college football season began with some buds primarily to play golf and gamble a little. One of the guys just before we left stopped off in Caesar's sports book and made a wager on LSU winning the national championship and won his wager for $100........the 2003 season.
