Wow, what a weekend in College Football. #1 KSU and #2 Oregon upset. Also the gutty Bruins finally beat USC and I'm sorry to say that Vanderbilt beat my Vols at home for the first time since '82, sending us home in shame and also leaving us no choice but to fire our coach first thing Sunday Morning.

DMAC I hope you wagered wisely. Glad your Tigers held off old Miss (also loved Miles's post game rant).

BCS Championship Game prediction: Notre Dame v. Georgia

Gus, that Vandy team looked pretty good. They will have a couple of draft choices from that team!

Sandy, I wish that were the case but the Tennessee defense made everyone look like all- Americans this year. Troy, a middle of the pack Sun Belt Conference team with a losing record put 48 points and 721 yards on us! We needed a record setting offensive day of our own to pull that one out in the last minute.

PS, it is still Vandy, and getting whooped by Vandy can mean only one thing to a Tennessee coach... good bye!

How can Florida be ranked that high still, having to pull out their game two weeks ago on a blocked punt, then really looking unimpressive last weekend. I guess the Noles will take care of them this Saturday. There is still hope, Florida State vs. Notre Dame, then my hat sits on top of the pedestal after the bowl win.

I like your prediction Gus. Being a strong Georgia fan, I have already informed my employer I am taking off January 7th and 8th. And possibly the 9th. Heck, might as well take off the whole week. Whether I go to the game or not, I'm going to need a few days to either recover from a loss or recover from a hangover.

I agree with you Mel as well. Florida had a few too close to call finishes this year that came down to the wire. And they lost to Georgia. I hope FSU sends them home with their gator tails bit off. The only thing worse then a Florida fan, is a Florida fan while they are winning.

As for Notre Dame, I'm hoping the bandwagon is big enough to hold all those new fans. Where did these folks come from? My aunt's sister had a next door neighbor that once watched the fighting Irish on tv, therefore he's a Notre Dame fan. Just never showed it until now.

    What?

Had a good weekend Gus.......I bet against your Vols and my Tigers and both proved correct. Had the Bruins against USC but lost on Stanford Oregon.......a 9 and 3 weekend so finished in the black easily. Sorry to see Dooley get the axe but we all knew it was coming........and yes Les had another Youtube tirade based on a Saturday mornign sports editorial in the paper. Looks like the Tide and Football Jesus playing for the BCS. UGa could beat them in Atlanta but will bet the Tide. Quite the shakeup this weekend in college pigskin.

All of you Gator haters will just have to wait and see. If FSU is so good the pollsters dont agree with you guys. with their record they aren;t getting much respect. Saturday will tell. Will make my predicition tomorrow or Turkey day early.

Calm down Mel, agree that the gayturds are overrated but your perennially overrated Seminoles will get their chance this week. If you win then the fact that florida was overrated only helps you.

Speaking of overrated, despite being raised catholic I am a ND hater because of the ND bandwagon Andy mentioned. It would drive me crazy when my Mom would always ask if 'Not-rah Dame' won- she knew nothing about football and the way she pronounced notre dame drove me batty. Also my Dad was an Okie and was present when ND snapped OU's win streak under Wilkinson, so he hated them too. Maybe USC will beat them this week and really stir things up.

Hope we get a good coach at UT. We went the cheap route with Dooley and failed so that means we will shake the big money trees and go all in for a big name this time around. Should be an interesting couple of weeks.

Have no fear it will be expensive. But leave John Chavis the %^$#*^% alone......hear me?

Don't worry, DMAC, I don't think Chavis is coming back after the way we treated Fulmer & Co. And yes, it is going to be expensive. School announced yesterday that the Athletic Department would no longer be transferring money to the campus at large due to the need to fund the coaching change. About $9.3M in buyouts for Dooley and his assistants, plus anticipated big money $5-6M for a big name coach (yet to be named).

I bet the Kiffen clan will be out looking for a new home if ND beats USC. Either the old man can't coach anymore or he has lost the ability to communicate with college players. I think Lane will be terminated based on USC not meeting preseason hype. They won't have the patience to bring them back!!
