Don't know how long this post will stay up but I've got to vent somewhere.

Royals trade top prospect Wil Myers for James Shields. Here Myers could fill the other corner outfield spot across from Gordon, even if he took a step back from last year's mind numbing numbers at AA and AAA, it has to be better then Francore was out there last year.

I wish I had won that last lottery I would have bought the team from that Wal-Mart trained owner David Glass, I would have already fired the GM Dayton Moore, I think I might wait to fire Ned Yost until we were on a long road trip and would just leave him in the last city we played. No wonder Greinke wanted traded, the introvert even signed to stay in the bright lights of LA, just goes to show how bad those people ruin the Royals.

Next year's college football season can't come soon enough.

I hope Myers is as good as you say. You got a great pitcher in Shields. Wish we would have been able to keep him here in TB. I guess we will just have to rely on our Cy Young winner.

Sorry for your loss Mel. I feel your pain, fella. The Royals use to be a great team but now they're one of the farm clubs for the rest of the league. There was a time I loved baseball. I was a huge Pirates fan back in the day and I followed the entire league. Went to as many games as I could and I loved to keep score and stats. My Saturdays were taken up by baseball with "This Week In Baseball" and watching games on the tube. Then owners started to dismantle teams, players turned into freaks from steroids, and the players went on strikes. I couldn't take it any longer. I rarely watch a game on the TV. I don't think I saw one pitch of the World Series this year. I refuse to pay for tickets to a game and more times than not I turn down free tickets to games. Bball is far from America's sport.

Keith he is good, probably more power then anyone currently on the roster, even if he settled in to a 270-280 hitter better then Francore. Shields might be good but we'll be lucky to keep him for a couple of years. Once his contract is up these cheap @#$%^ will let him walk. Heck come next year when we are out of the pennant race again they will probably trade him to a contender.

The fans have been salivating all this last season, when we bringing up Myers, watching Francore struggle so bad, they started sitting him. "Oh no, we can't bring him up now, lets let him keep feasting on AAA pitching and not get his major league clock ticking so we have more control over him for many more years"

There has got to be something in KC's water, the two worst GM's in sports reside there. The GM for Sporting KC must live on the Kansas side, I think there stadium is over there as well, their fans don't have to witness this tomfoolery.

Clay I remember those days of watching this week in baseball. I was always frustrated down here in Springfield since I had moved that we would only get Royals games when they were on ESPN and Fox when the Cardinals were off or had a day game. 3 years ago we started getting regular Fox KC broadcast and I was loving it, (well as much as you could love watching a team loose through inept managing, I can't wait for Yost to be shown the door, heck he might just ruin Shields as a pitcher) Although last year was a tough one when the Royals made Fox fire Frank White as an announcer and we got stuck listening to Rex Hudler, god is he brutal. I loved Frank telling old Royals stories and he would mention how the kids needed to work on fundamentals more, I think that is why team management wanted him fired. Heck they should have hired him as manager, he lead a lot of those players to a Texas League finals, he taught guys like Butler, Gordon and others how to win.

    Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel, Mel,

You have really missed your calling you should have been a Cub Fan as you remind me of one. I can not believe you are complaining about the Royals moving some prospects for proven players, and pitchers none the less.. It is usually the other way around. This is a great trade for the Royals, Shields and Davis make the Royals a factor in the Central rather than a spoiler (as in they owned the White Sox this year like not other team and cost them the Central title). Kansas City is a great baseball town and the Royals should be a great franchise. As a baseball fan i like the move, as a White Sox fan I hate it.

Only about 80 days til Pitchers a Catchers report.

    Sean,

you should know us real fans know what's better for the team then those whose real job it is to actually run it. That's why we are called fans. I do pretty well in my fantasy leagues with Royals players past and present, looking to add Myers to my team next year, although Peach will now have him high on his draft board.

Although Hochevar kills me, pitches that great game every 4th turn.

    Mel,

You Know I just cant get into that Fairyland sports stuff. My nephew makes a good living on a Podcast for daily http://rotogrinders.com/podcasts fairyland wagering. I have tried to get into it but I'm just too much of a team guy (mainly White Sox). I appreciate how good other teams players are but I am not going to start to pull for them. The stats do not always = winners.

Anyway I think the Royals are going to be competitive this year. They might even make it to second place behind the Sox.

Sean, I play the games but I don't wager on them, only do free stuff, and it's because like you I root for my home team players, but I will go out and get a couple of other guys when my home town team is weak at spots, like former Seminole Catcher Buster Posey, or former Royals players, Aviliis is a good one in most leagues because he plays all 3 infield positions. little inconsistent with the bat at times. That's why my fantasy football teams stink, most of the Seminoles on offense tend to be back ups or hand the ball off to Adrian Peterson. Of course having a bye in the consolation round of the playoffs Aquin Bolden finally shows up.

I think they will too, if Perez is behind the plate all year and both Hosmer gets back to his play from two year ago, and Moustakus continues to improve, Gio sticks at 2nd base, can't rely on Getz he gets hurt to much, it could be a good year. I think Gordon is hitting his stride. I still worry about Yost, he just doesn't seem to handle the pitching staff very well, typically leaving them in to face that one batter too many.
