I have been relativly quite of late but have had some personal issues to deal with so quite on the football front. But I cannot let Ron and Rick ride off into the sunset this football season without a little controversy right? I know when Bama got beat everyone from the east coast to the west coast breathed a sigh of relief. Two new teams....KSU vs Oregon for the championship. Funny time happend on the way to Miami........they both got beat. So guys get ready it's either Bama or Georgia vs Notre Dame in south beach in a month or so. The SEC rules again.............what 6 of 10 teams in the Top Ten from the SEC. And guys the Fighting Irish will go down. If foolish bet on them, if not save your money to pay of Christmas bills. According to the Vegas line of yesterday three SEC teams are favord over the Irish, the Tigers and ND are a pick it and they are slight favorites over Florida and South Carolina. Looks like number 7 is headed to the SEC again this year

Hey, thanks for thinking of me! You've been gone? Never noticed. I see your coach is black-mailing your school for more money. Life goes on David. You should really see someone about your gambling addiction tho.

I can't believe I've been reduced to pulling for the Irish.

Where's the pukey icon thingy here?

    Maybe this will work.

Ron I really liked the photo......better than a pukey icon.........Rick do not fear, no addiction, just kind of like golf. I play on the weekends but does not control my life. Like gambling on the stock market and being doing that since '72. I won't be gambling much longer though if that will make you feel better and thanks for the concern. And Richard the ACC has a long way to go........each team that played the SEC last weekend took it on the chin but they rule in hoops so you have hope there.

You boys should just count your blessing that THE Ohio State University is on probation.

THE Ohio State really isn't very good. Cal shoulda' beat them in about week two. Three missed field goals did them in. And Cal is pretty bad.

Indiana gave them quite the scare also. But I have to give them some credit, as I have family members who root for them as well. Quite the Saturday, my team was the only one that lost among the teams we were rooting for. Bah Humbug!

Yeah...I know. But hey!, we were undefeated. Never mind we played Toledo Middle School, St. Mary's Elementary and Indiana.

The year The Ohio State University won the National Championship in 2002, we should have been beat about 5 times and somehow pulled them off. Then we beat a mighty Miami team that had won 34 straight and no one gave us a chance. We just would need one shot this year. Not sure if we are the best team or not, but could beat anyone in the country in a one game series right now.

Your dedication to the scarlet and gray is noble and trust me when I say I'm a huge OSU fan. But I wouldn't bet David's money on an OSU vs. pick any SEC team. Our defense is giving up huge points and even though our offense is clicking I don't think they can run with those big dogs...YET!

I knew Urban would get them going again in the right direction but surprised he did in one year. He will recruit the south and speed and they will compete soon with the SEC in titles. If the rest of the Big 10 ever figures out 350 lb slow guys can't compete with 290 lb fast guys the conference will be competive as well.

Sorry Mel but way back in Sept you made the comment about the Noles and the BCS and my comment to you then was they not only will not be in the hunt, they won't get to the hunt. Guess 3 months of football proved me right.
    And Irish will get beat!

Wonder everyones thoughts on the BCS picks and bowl game match-ups. My one comment and it's not because I'm a Gator Hater, (well maybe) How come Georgia who beats Florida and gets to the SEC Championship game gets a lower bowl then Florida who sat home on their butts this past weekend. Doesn't quite seem fair to me, penalizing a team making it to their conference championship game and probably only loosing because of some questionable clock management. It wasn't like they got blow out, and even if they had....how's that fair.

Hoping the Noles don't play down to their competition.

Mel, you're right, Georgia got hosed on the bowl selection, and in my opinion they shouldn't have really fallen that much in the polls. They proved an equal match for Bama right up to the end. FSU got a little cheated too, having to play a BCS buster- that's a no win situation. La Tech also got reamed, how does a 9-3 team not wind up in a bowl? Of course my Vols are not bowl bound and still searching for a new coach, but I'm excited that the Holiday Bowl in San Diego (we go every year) has a great matchup with UCLA and Baylor. Should be a lot of offense in that one.

    Gus,

I heard La Tech was invited to a bowl but had asked the bowl to wait until they heard from some other bowl. When the dominoes started falling with Oklahoma, Georgia and some other teams as I understood it, ended up taking spots that La Tech was hoping to get, and when that happened, the bowl invitation had been given to another team. I agree they should have been going bowling, the guys on the ESPN show last night seemed to blame them, they should have accepted the first bid, they did a disservice to their players and school, but I'm guessing they were thinking they could have got a better bowl for their players, I guess the lesson is take the one that asks you.

Heck a Georgia/FSU match up would have been nice, although it might not have been a win for us. But the way they play against crappy teams, they could loose to Northern Illinois too.

I wouldnt bet money on them either Clay, but I wouldnt have either in 2002 either. We would lose 8 out of 10 times to Alabama, but we could beat them any given Saturday. 18-22 year old kids.
