toro 5700 lift actuator Cancel The title field is required!

   I remember seeing this on the old forums once but can't get in there now. One of my lift actuators suddenly stopped working today. I've checked all fuses and connections, have 12 volts to it but nothing happening. I disassembled the motor and wonder if the brushes are bad. Anything else I can check? A new one is crazy expensive and I can't find any on ebay or r&r. Does anybody have any tips or know where I can get a new one?Dan Jurgens

   After someone else on here instructed us to, we took the old one off, sent it to Car Quest and they matched it up. The new one was stronger and 1/4 of the price at around $200. But, seeing as how you are in Norway....good luck!

   People from other countries can buy stuff from each other. I used to be a sales manager for Ransomes before Textron bought them. Give him the Car Quest part number and he will pay the freight. It is not that much.

   You see, I said that we took our old one to CarQuest. I'm assuming there are no CarQuest's in Norway. That's why I said "good luck". I realize Norwegians can by from us Americans. If I had the CarQuest part number, I could and hence would have given it to him. However, it is listed on the old forum, and as of this time is inaccessible. Since my source was of now help to him in the immediate time frame, I offered another suggestion.

   I researched actuators for nearly two days before finding these. To buy an aftermarket Thomson (the manufacturer of Toro's actuators) it was going to be just under $600. The ones in the link above came out to $267 with domestic shipping. We've been using them for two months now with great success. I hope this helps.

   Thanks guys, actually took it apart, cleaned it up a bit and it worked again. Think the brushes got hung up or something. Glad I didn't order a new one.
   
   I do miss Carquest, Menards and how easy it was to get things at the local hardware shop. It's a different businesss over here, that's for sure.

   Great info thanks Ryan. If you run into a problem again Dan contact me and I will figure out how to ship you one. $250 is a great price compared to $800 from Toro. You will need to transfer rear mounting bushing from original unit, takes about 5 minutes. Good luck.
