    Has anyone else had a problem with the fan frame of their 5200 vibrating loose and breaking the supports.

    Sure have. Almost everyone I've ever seen. Check the mounting hardware often, make sure there is no play in the fan bearing, and once welded it shouldn't do it again.

    The 5300's are no better. We've had 3 over the years, and a normal part of maintenance was checking welds on everything around the engine. I blamed it not on the weld quality,but the way the Mitsubishi engines vibrated.

    That's probably why they use Kubota engines now. You can't beat a Kubota engine, smooth, and long lasting. After years of doing the same thing day in and day out, looking over the frames and equipment for stress cracks is part of our normal maintenance practice on any equipment being serviced.
