We have a 2007 Toro 3150 greensmaster. Mower started acting up yesterday. Reels would drop and turn on, but only at about 50%. Go half way across the green and than they engaged to 100% no problems the rest of that green. Go over to the next green same thing, first pass half way across 50% and than would kick into 100%. Finshed mowing the rest of them and the same thing on every green. Got to the last green and they stayed at 50% and would not fully engage. I'm thinking a valve is sticking and it's hydraulic rather than elect. Pulled many of the valves on manifold and looked at o rings every valve looked good. Any help would be great I'm at a lost right now.

Could be the microswitch on the joystick sticking also. Kind of like when you hold it down too long.

I pulled both valves out all the o rings looked good. I guess could u explain what else I should look for on those two valves? Andy, I haven't checked the joystick micros I figured since they only come on at 50% it must be hydros. The micros could be a possibility? Thanks guys.

I just know that when we have a new operator and he holds the joystick, we get bad rippling like the reel speed is too slow due to the engine bogging down. Just a thought.

Pull the valve and stick a golf tee in the bottom of it. It should push in and the spring back down.

Also check the K3 and K4 solenoids and the S1 valve.

Check the sleeve on the reel, that the reel motor drive shaft fits into. They wear out and sometimes skip for a while before the catch and even then they don't run at full speed. We have had to replace ours this year on the same unit. Second time they have been replaced (2008 unit). They don't cost much but you would think they would last longer.

It is not your joystick switch. we just bought a hydraulic test system to tract down the problem. If you don't have this tool that fits all Toro machines, you could be throwing money at guesses. We sent it out to our Toro rep to repair it and it saved us lots of $. We guessed on one part and that was enough for me.
