Mathew having worked cool and warm season courses , volume of grass clippings going through unit and allowing some level of lubrication , example middle summer Pas or Ber 100 f slow growth , cutting more to get rid of the trolley and cart tyre tracks , for presentation reduce to 400-500 rpm , assuming 9 or more blade cylinders .Also slower ground speed and might need to throw in more reverse cutting down previous strips or 90 degree cross cutting to avoid any ribbing from slow cylinder speed

Cool season grass similar both in over-seed and all year round scenarios , but Spring flush time full RPM to get clipping dispersal or clean in the box .
Cylinder set up is a bug bear of mine , you can never do to much checking as QOC is equally as important as the Cylinder RPM.
Will be interested in others thoughts .

What fairway units are you currently running? This will gives us a better idea of speed/settings to recommend for good quality of cuts. FOC is very important based one HOC and ground speed. So knowing the units will help in advising you on proper setup.

im currently using JD 8700 with 11 blade reels. just was wondering what guys had mowers set at. i have the rpm set one setting over half way. i try to keep the guys mowing at about 4-4.5 mph. this was how we had toros in the past and it always seemed to give a better cut than wide open.
