I have a satellite that works overnight to water through site pro, however, if i try to operate this satellite with the handheld or through sitepro in the morning, it does not run. when i stand at the satellite, send a command, the message delivered jingle plays, but the light doesn't blink. i did a reset and wake up on the card, and it worked one day. the next same problem...however the wake up and restart did not work any time after.

on another satellite i had all stations come on and continuously come on and go off immediately until i changed out the board...to one i know does not communicate. what would cause this surge of voltage?

    thanks to all....

I've had this isssue before.....it gets worse and worse until it fails completly.....I keep 3 decoders in inventory, R&R them...after I set the dip switches and send to Boardtronics.....Save 100 dollars as opposed to Toro....I keep some transformers on hand also....Since the the transformer is 24 to 12 vlt....the only possibilty I can think of would be a transformer failing...

We had the issue where heads would just randomly come on during the day for about 1 second and then turn off again, all day at random times. The programs all seemed to run fine, and I could cycle heads with my radio. It got to the point that when golfers where playing I avoided this hole entirely until we could figure out the problem. It is amazing the looks of disbelief you get when you try to explain that I have no control over the heads coming on. The problem turned out to be a bad wire splice when we added a couple of new heads. It took about a year for the wire splice to go out after we installed the new heads, but dug up the splice, repaired it, and haven't had an issue since.

as far as the radio and no light blink, I know there is a hard reset command that can be sent to all satellite boxes to wake them all up. I would talk to your local Toro guy to see if he has the command. Have you tried putting in a mother board from another satellite that you know is working?

seems to be working now, replaced 2 decoder boards, and the issues seem to be curbed. We'll see for how long.

That's good to hear....And I didn't know if you were familiar with "Boardtronics" or not. But they rebuild just about anything....Good and less expensive than OEM's.
I had a lightening strick last year that blew out a decoder card and valve cards and went all the way to blowing out every solonoid on the Rain Bird valve in heads on that satellite......That really sucked

we used boardtronics for 99% of our work after the flood of 2011...lost 5 satellites "brains"...i had 2 cards from them that i could not get to work. I also have had a few from Toro that i couldn't get to communicate/work when i received them. the damn gremlins are in these satellites, but it doesnt help since they were under water for >24 hours and the electric feed did not trip....so the damage came from being energized under water....2 other satellites tripped when they went under and were fine, still to this day.

our pump station was receiving over 500 volts when we could get to the power source...jcp&l claimed there was no damage from their end...so we had to eat the cost of vfd plus 4 satellite's components.
