    when grinding bedknives should i grind the top first then front face or vise versa or does it matter, Thanks in advance

    Good question.  I can't remember.  I haven't done a relief grind for 17 years.

    Top first then do the front. If the top is really bad you could change it. I have
    seen some that are not worth the time to grind. I send them back.

    I always do the top face first, then front face.

    I don't think there is a right or wrong way, I have done both ways and have not noticed any difference in grinding time or otherwise.

    i think mike is right there is no right or wrong way to grind, i was taught to grind the top face then front face and remove the burr. but i know some old timers who don't even use bedkinfe grinders. They only spin grind and black lap after to get perferct contact. and they regularly back lap and do a quick bedknife facing with a manual facer like the dewalt ones r and r sells but theres a couple different kinds of facers you can buy. as long as you can easily cut a piece of paper with minimal contact across the reel i dont think it matters how you do it.
