Blades suddenly turned off while mowing. Everything else about the mower is fine, but now when you set the decks down with blade switch "on", the blades do not turn on. We have replaced both magnetic sensor switches on the right and left front decks, ruled out a control module issue, and now we're stumped. Any ideas?

Sometimes, if you throttle it down all the way, machine parked, blades switch on and decks down, it briefly tries to turn on and then turns back off within seconds. We don't see any hydraulic leaks of any kind...

What did you find was the culprit? I was talking with someone yesterday that is experiencing the same problem. He has checked the magnetic switches as well and was thinking it may be a solenoid. While I do not have one of these in my shop I did explain that we have had to replace the mow solenoids on our 5410 as they were out of ohm spec and had corrosion damage.

Might sound weird but sometimes a weak seat switch.

Not weird at all Mark. Sometimes it is the simplest solution that we overlook.

We have a newer Massy Ferguson tractor that even with the weight knob turned all the way down if it bounced at all with a smaller operator the engine would shut off. Seat switch was the culprit.

something to check as well is high temp sensor, controller will shut down pto operation at 221 degrees but will not shut down engine. possibly bad sensor or wire or god forbid controller itself ?
had this happen to our 4300,luckily turned out to be high temp sensor. I should also mention the cutting units would not engage once machine had cooled down either,

I had the identical issue last year, and it turned out to be the control module.
Everything checked out fine in the shop, but the decks would randomly shut down in the field.
I followed the operator around with the cover removed until the fault recurred, noted the LED display, and sure enough the module was bad.
Haven't had a lick of trouble since replacing.
    Best of luck!

Ours had similar issues and the seat switch wire was severed inside the wire loom. We have the air ride seat and it looks like some of the suspension parts pinched the wire.
