Early this year we replace the engine in out Club Car Carry All Turf 2 with a brand new crate engine from Stens. Everything went fine, no hiccups. It is a pedal start. The engine turns over but wont go. The flywheel is turning. Things we have done to fix are:
    Re gapped spark plug
    clean fuel lines and filter
    Rebuilt the carb
    Checked fuel pump for flow
    Engine does have compression(manual test)
    Feel free to call me

Check for spark. Adjust the valves. What was your compression readings? I would do a leak down test, this will tell you where your problems may be. It is also much more accurate than a compression test when tracking problems.

We don't have tools to do a compression or leak down test. The compression test was a simple "turn the motor see if it blows my finger off" test. Mind you this is a brand new motor, never used. We get good spark and the valves are good.

Not sure if this may apply but every now and then on our E-Z-Go range cart with a gas engine it stops running. The issue is really that it gets no fuel and the solution is simple enough. On the panel by the engine they mount a fuel pump which has a very small round screen which clogs up with dust. once the screen clogs up it stops pumping fuel. simply clean the screen off and it works again. I have had to do this repair about 2 years it seems because the cart people do not care.

With it getting spark, fuel, good valves, and being a new motor from Stens, did you get the correct rotating engine from them? 95-96 I believe are counter-clockwise rotation, and 97 and up are clockwise rotation. I did not see your year so I figured I'd throw this out as a possible cause.

If you pull the plug, drop 5 drops of fuel in, replace plug does it run for a few seconds?

Look at your shift cable and make sure its moving from FWD to RV fully. Also make sure your clutches are engaging. Then look at the axles, you could have a bad hub or axle. After that its into the rear end. I have rarely seen an issue in the rear, so hopefully that's not your problem.

There should be a keyway on the driven clutch.

Does the engine run when in forward and reverse or only when in neutral?

Is this similar to a golf cart with a starter generator? Is the belt tight enough to allow the starter to turn the motor over fast enough? Bad starter generator?

I had the same problem this spring. Ended up replacing the rear clutch and it ran like new. Make sure you get the right spring color for the year of your cart. Clutch was about $225.
