I have a JD 2500 tri-plex unit that I use for tees/approaches. While attempting to backlap yesterday, the backlap knob broke off. Replacement cost is $750. The mower honestly isn't even worth that much. Does any one know if there is a "golf course equipment junk yard" for used parts out there? Any other suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Couple of options.

Call a used equipment dealer. Many times they have extra/spare parts they will sell.

    eBay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=john+deere+backlap&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1311.R1.TR2.TRC1.A0.Xjohn+deere+2500&_nkw=john+deere+2500&_sacat=0

Talk to your JD mobile service tech. He may know of someone who can help you or they may have a junk unit.

C & L Equipment Tampa. Gary (813) 238-0956 The only junkyard I know of. Not sure how much JD equipment he has.

    What is the part #?

    Good luck.

    Keith,

Yep, that's the villain. Are you wanting to sell it?

Call around to a few John Deere turf dealers. Most of the time they have lots of junk equipment sitting around their yards.
