    Hey All,

I am curious to hear any feedback on truck mounted versus tow behind topdressers. I am on the fence right now. We will be using the unit for soccer and softball/baseball field applications and will not have to drive very far. It will be a new traction unit which will also be utilized as a sprayer and as a utility vehicle (mostly the latter) . I just don't know about all the weight. I am still in the bidding process but can say it is likely going to be a green and yellow traction unit.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

We like our truck mounted dedicated unit. You can go much faster between fill ups than having to tow a trailer unit. But, if you are going to be taking it off and on, then I personally would get the trailer just to avoid having to change them over.

I've worked with both and have to say that I liked the truck mounted Dakata better than a pull behind. As far as lifting it off and on and switching from one item to the next not much problem as we suspended our from the steel beams in the maintenance bay and then switch over was easy. We did this with the sprayer to. 2 chain hoist to the steel beams and works like a charm. Pull in hook the chains up and then lift it off, drive under the other lower the chains and your done.

We have a Dakota mounted on a Progator with the wider tires on the back, and love it. Our previous setup was a pull behind....does the job, but tight turns and hills are a challenge to maneuver. We even use our Dakota to fertilize tees and fairways...great coverage.
