I may already know the answer to this question but want to ask it anyway.

Everytime we put new tournament bedknives on our triplex it scalps. We have tifeagle greens cut at .130" and use tournament bedknife. I think that we will need to go to an even thinner bedknife to keep this from happening but they do not last very long at all.

We generally raise the HOC to 140" and the scalping goes away but I do not like to cut that high if I do not need to.

Have any of you had the same problem and if so what did you do to stop it?

Have you checked the reels for parallel? If they are out, they will scalp a bit.
Are you grinding the new knife once installed on the bed bar? Is there a sharp burr on the bottom edge of the front face of the knife that could be scuffing the turf?
    Grooved or solid front rollers?
How steep is your bed knife attitude? If the reels are set up too aggressive, some scalping can occur.
Check the effective height of cut with a prism. A .130 bench setting can give you a much lower effective height of cut on the greens. Maybe even too low at times.
Any pics of how the cut looks?

Where do you have the spacers set at on the reel? The rear rollar has a spacer if it is a newer reel.Cuts below .130 they reccommend the spacer be removed and stored on top of the bracket. If it is an older reel they have settings between A and E depending on the hieght of cut.
