   My sprayrig keeps backfiring only when going downhill. It is so loud you could wake the dead. My mechanic believes the carburator needs cleaning or replaced. We talked to some Toro guys and they think this cleaning will not work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

   Clean the carb. Replace the fuel filter, replace the spark plugs and check your air filter start with the cheap and easy.
   Could be some bad gas also so you can always deal with that easily I have been dealing with that issue a lot lately.
   Could be a valve clearance issue also so I would check that.
   Could even be a bad coil (cylinder loads up with fuel)
