I have a 1999 Toro walk behind aerator. The large main drive belt needs to be replaced. I have only taken a quick look on how to replace it.
Where do I find a repair manual online for the machine?
Is this a simple job or major task?

I have found Toro repair manuals online for other machines but this one I can not find.

    Brad,

they are really not that hard! a little pain in the bum but not to bad. Do your self a favor, Slip yourself another belt in there and zip tie it out of the way. In that manner when this one goes, You have a back up already in there to take its place.

Once you get in there you will see what I mean.

Hope all goes well for you.

Hector, I think the zip ties method is for the Deere units. The older walk behind toros had the chain drive sprockets, and the 648's have one large belt that runs on an outside mounted pulley. All belts on the 648 are not bad ba to change out, and one should probably change them all at the same time and for one you must remove the other. I think I'm thinking correctly on this one but you never know:) There's a 3-point mount unit we have that does use belts and the zip ties would work on it as well.

    Regards,

Hector thanks for that, I'll remember to put an extra one in our 2 older aerators we use for the rough around our tee boxes.
