I have a Toro walkbehind aerator purchased back in 2000. The coring head will not stay up anymore. The head falls to the bottom in about 5 seconds. All the lines and connections are good with no leaks and it doesn't look to be any fluid leaking from the lift cylinder.

Does the lift cylinder need a seal kit?

    Or

Could the lift/lower valve be the problem?

Maybe a bad cylinder. Raise it up and block it. Remove your lines and cap the cylinder, then remove the blocks and if it drops your cylinder is bad. if it holds then your problem is up stream, lift valve or check valve. I do not have that unit so I am not looking at a schematic of the hydraulics, but this should be a fast and easy enough test to point you in the direction of trouble.

Is it possible to get a pump, which raises and lowers our aerator from Napa? It looks very similar to a power steering pump. We have an older model #09110-10001 Toro greens aerator.
