We are having a few recurring problems that we have not had much luck resolving, even with assistance from our local dealer. I was hoping someone on here maybe able to chime in with their experiences with the sprayer or possibly solutions to the problems we are seeing.
First problem....The speed sensor seems to have a mind of its own on whether it wants to work or not. Our tech, as well as the local dealer tech, both are at a loss for what is causing it to not read speed. It will work one minute and the next it will zero out. We can spray in manual but even then we do not have a speed reading to go off of, just personal experience. Can be done but not ideal considering the investment.
Second Problem..... The boom control valves on the back off the machine do not turn on or off instantly like the old 5500 does. When spraying, we are forced to turn the booms on early just to make sure they are up to pressure by the time we reach the playing surface to be sprayed. We are also forced to shut the pump off to keep them from leaking as we travel the course. We thoroughly cleaned all the valve assemblies this winter and the problem continues running straight water through the system. I do know they are an ARAG valve compared to the old tee-jet ones on the 5500.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. A rainy week here in northern Illinois. Slowest start to the golf season I can remember..... best of luck to all for a good year!
