Toro 3200 grennsmower not starting Cancel The title field is required!

   Hey techs---I'm having a problem with my Toro 3200 greensmower triplex.....mower ran great yesterday---today I can't get it started. This unit has three spark plugs with separate coils, but all are okay----checked to see if electric fuel pump was giving gas and disconnected the hose and turned on the key, and it was pumping fine. Checked all four fuses and even replaced them...still nothing. disconnected seat safety switch--still nothing. Engine turns over fine, but doesn't start. Any ideas? I am the Super and mechanic on a small nine hole par 3 course, and I am a better super then a mechanic Any help would be greatly appreciated...thank you!

   I am sure that someone better qualified will be posting for you but I know there are three things that makes and engine run, Fuel, spark and timing. If any of these does not work then neither does the engine. you state that all of the plugs and coils are ok, but how did you determine this? do they spark when turning the engine over? if so is it a strong spark? if so then you must go to the next issue fuel! I say this because timing may be the hardest to determine quickly. you stated that the fuel pump is working but is there a filter after the pump that may have clogged up? did you pull the fuel line off at the carb. to check to see if fuel is coming out? if so you may need to check to see if the carb is working. I am not familure with the gas engines on the triplex's because I only buy Diesel engines. but dropping the bowl will allow you to see if fuel is coming out of the bowl and if the float is working. If everything up to this point is working then my guess would be a timing issue. The reason I have not mentioned switches is because when they do not work you do not get spark. Now a diesel engine shuts off the fuel through a selinoid because it does not use spark.
   
   I would lean towards fuel first because it generally is the easiest place to corrupt the system.
   
   Hopefully one of these master equipment techs will also chime in with better info then what I was able to give you.

   Is there such a thing as a Toro 3200 triplex mower with a gas 3 cyl (maybe 2)? I'm puzzled. What kind of engine is this, a Briggs?
   In any case the carb may have a fuel shut off solenoid screwd into the side of it with 2 wires. You should hear and feel it click (open) when the key is turned to the ignition position. If it doesn't click the engine will turn over but not fire up.

   Oddly enough I seem to remember seeing what appeared to be 3 cylinder gas engines online from ebay when I was searching for a 1105D kubota block. I think they were made for the small skid steers.
   
   I had only seen the Briggs installed on the Triplexes though but I have not looked at gas engines in over 20 years.

   The 3 cylinder gas is in fact in the 3200 triplex. We have one now. It is somewhat rare I do believe, as our service tech from toro had never even seen one when I had a question for him with it. As for the original post I will talk to my mechanic and see if he has any suggestions.
