Toro 3150 issue Cancel The title field is required!

   I am having a problem with a 3150. Starts fine, but when you put into gear it dies. We have tried bypassing the seat switch and the break switch, but still no fix. Any other suggestions?

   Sounds like a brake switch. The little button that engages the parking brake could be sticking and not releasing fully when the brake pedal is depressed. There are two switches mounted on the shifter mechanism but if it dies when you place in mow or transport it sounds like those switches are working.

   One other note. Some safety switches are intended to be a open circuit. When you bypass them you might be fighting yourself. Look at the electrical schematic in the operator manual and confirm that the switch should be open or closed instead of just bypassing it. Digital volt /ohm meters are really handy for checking these switches also.

   Also check your ground connections. not getting 100% ground can also cause issues.
