Toro 1250 steering question Cancel The title field is required!

   Our Toro 1250 (11 years old) will not turn sharply to the left but will turn real sharp to the right.
   
   Any suggestions? We did adjust steering tie rods and such, don't know if it might have something to do with hydraulic steering cylinder?

   I do believe FedEx and UPS both only allow right hand turns. Safety reason....

   Maybe the steering cylinder has a threaded yoke that came unlocked and the rod is unscrewing.

   I would look for a hydraulic strainer near the trans-axle. If it has one, cleaning it would be a good place to start, but be be forewarned, this will drain the hydraulic fluid. A clogged strainer can sometime manifest itself as a steering problem. It's worth a look.

   Thanks, I will show our mechanic this as well, we don't have a lift though. Funny thing is we really haven't worn out tires, we just put a set on this year for the first time, at the 1500 hour mark and 11 seasons. But will have to keep an eye on that until we get our problem solved.

   You might be able to do it on jack stands . For me it just gives a good reference point to see what's out of wack .

   Check the steering cylinder for an internal leak. Has the frame mount been moved for the steering cylinder? Re set the steering cylinder to the center of the stroke and then re set tie rod ends to specs. The cylinder must be at the center of the stroke when the vehicle is going straight ahead. If the cylinder stroke is not in the center then you will have more movement of the turning arc in one direction.
