I have a lot of chemical residue inside my sprayer that doesn't want to come off. I have tried hot soapy water and different degreasers with no luck. I feel like the residue is almost impregnated into the tank so to speak. I thought about a wire brush, but am afraid of scratching the plastic and having even more problems down the road. It's not the end of the world if it doesn't come clean, just makes it difficult to see my fill marks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We use a product called Breakthrough (from Lawson products). We have had the same 5 gallon jug for a few years now. It is a concentrate that is supposed to diluted but we found that it we spray out concentrate with a squirt bottle let soak 5-10 minutes maybe brush with plastic bristled scrub brush then pressure wash the tanks come really clean. Pricey but works very well.
