Just wondering if anyone has a Salsco Electric Greens Roller, Can you roll 18 greens with lights on for a couple of hours. Any problems etc. Trying to decide between gas or electric we have 160,000 sqft greens with some undulation. Any thoughts on extra weight with electric better worse?

    Thanks

    Matt

I demoed one a number of years back and it worked very well. Its a very fast unit and from those that I have spoken with, it seems that there were a number of shafts breaking off due to that speed and the force of changing directions. I haven't heard much on them in last couple of years, positive or negative, so that may be a good thing. We run two of the hydraulic units and they are very good units.

I sat down with their Engineers two years ago and the engineers were aiming for about 100,000 square feet for a full battery cycle. I informed that they should aim for something closer to 140,000 square feet and they looked at me like I was crazy. If I was you, I would ask to demo an electric unit for a few days to see what you can get out of it. Good luck and keep that gas powered generator handy in case you need to recharge that electric roller.
