Ripple on the green.

    Need a little help here. After I triplex greens , I have a ripple on the green where the middle unit has cut . I changed the roller, slowed down but still the same .The other reels are good . Has anybody have this happen , if so can you point me in the right direction. Thanks .

    Do you have that backlapping feature with the valve that controls reel speed on the hydraulic lines? That might be keeping the middle reel from turning at the correct speed. Kenneth Ingram, UMD

    What triplex brand are you using? You may have a hydraulic issue, could be reel motor or pump, or an o-ring, relief valve. Try swapping reel motors with a front to rear and see if the problem follows, if it does it's the motor, if it stays then its somewhere else in your system. Need more info to what model it is then it will be a bit easier to help you out.

    you did not happen to change the bedknives recently have you? I have had issues with new bedknives in the past.

    What type of cutting unit as well, I've seen problems with the Single Point Adjustment units after winter work, we had ripples, I don't remember the exact cause but our set-up was wrong, might have had the new bedknives at the wrong angle or something. This was on all three units though.
