Just wondering if anyone has seen or heard of someone turning an old Foley manual reel grinder into a bed knife grinder? I have even heard that there is an attachment to do this.

I have a mid 80's Foley 388 in my shop at home that will do both reels and bed knives. There are a few mounting brackets required to get it done but they're not too expensive.

Find your model number and download the manuals here: http://www.foleyunited.com/Manuals

Or you can call Foley. Ask for Vince. He can point you in the right direction.

Follow the link in my other post for contact info at Foley. They will be able to set you up with your local dealer or supply you directly. Try ebay if you are looking for used.

    Bill,
What are you missing? There are several 388's locally that are not being used any more and they may be willing to sell some parts.

    Bret

Thanks for helping. My Foley is missing the cover for the belt, and the gauge that attaches to it. Also missing one of the saddle pieces that the roller sets into. Also need a couple of the plates that secure the saddle to the crossbars, I could probably have them made but if they are available that would be easiest. Thanks again for your help.

    Will,
Both of the 388's were sold this winter. One unfortunately went for scrap.
