I think I am being too picky about this, but we've just received our new greens mower this past week, we do have time before we will use it, so I'm setting up my maintenance schedules now. With what we invest in new equipment and since we don't always get much, I do want to show we take care of things. (That darn Lake City influence).

I have noted that the maintenance schedule on the new machine after break in is change the oil and filter every 100 hours.

We have the same model of machine (well despite the age difference) that we bought in 2008 shows that we should change the oil every 50 hours and oil/filter at 100.

All other schedules are the same

Both have the same Briggs engines, (I guess except for improvements?)

Just looking for opinions, I would prefer to stick with the 50/100 service model which we actually employ with all small engines of this size. It would avoid confusion I believe. Cost is minimal; $3.50 for the oil, labor is an extra 15 minutes basically $2.50, since the machine is getting checked over for other items. Can I over do it with the extra oil change and should I stick to the new 100 hour oil/filter change?

Currently our older machine from 2008 has 2185 hours on it and has had no problems. We do know another machine purchased at the same time in our system had an engine failure, but I know it had more hours, and I don't know if they serviced it the same or not.

    Thanks!

    Mel
