Have a Lastec 4520 to where no fuel is getting pass the injection pump. Getting to it, but not past. The symptoms I was told was is that it would shut off during operation but start back up. Then it started to lose power all together and that was it. Hasn't started since then.

Correct me if Im wrong please. Isnt the fuel shut-off solenoid magnetized? Once power is there it draws the plunger in to allow fuel to flow. It does absolutely nothing and its brand new. Even tested out the old one with a direct power source from the battery.

Is the mower new or the fuel solenoid new? If the mower is new it is under warranty. If solenoid is new it could be
bad. You can take the fuel shutoff solenoid out to see if it will run, you may have to hold lever in on fuel valve.
    Good luck.

I had a Lastec 3600 that had a similar problem, chased problem for a while and was pulling my hair out. I followed all circuits and came to the conclusion that when you turned key to the start position, engine would crank over but fuel solenoid would not pull in. I checked everything and could not figure it out because somebody that owned machine before us had spliced wires and bypassed circuits. We replaced fuel solenoid and still did it. When key in on position and you push pin in on solenoid, it would hold, but turning key to start position it would not pull. Since mower was a backup and just used to mulch leaves, I installed a push button switch on control panel that received power from hot lead on key switch to push button switch, then went to wire that fed the pull on the solenoid. Machine now works. To start machine, turn key to on position, push button and you can hear solenoid click, turn key to start and machine fires up. To turn off just turn key to off and machine shuts off. I baffled many people trying to figure out problem, but this was only solution to get us back up and running.
    Good Luck

I had the same problem with one of those last year, turned out to be a loose crimp on the right neutral switch. Doing the same thing again but I don't have time to pull it off the course. Pulled the fuel solenoid off and it runs fine. Stuck a cap in the hole and pull it out to access the lever to turn off. The electrical circuits on the newer 4520's are far more complicated than they need to be.

Fuel solenoids have a pull in winding for starting and a hold in winding for run. Make sure you have 2 wires with power, 1 for crank and 1 for run. If not, then check through the safety circuit, and find the connection or switch that is bad.
